Some organizations are particularly active in offering technical support and in contributing to the improvement of productivity and management in the area. To that end, the Brome-Missisquoi CLD collaborates with Quebec’s department of Economic Development, Innovation, and Export trade, Emploi-Québec, the Centre de Service aux enterprises du Cégep de Granby Haute-Yamaska (CSE), the National Research Council (NRC), and the Société de formation industrielle de l’Estrie (SOFIE)
The department of Economy, Innovation, and Export trade’s Productivity Program allows eligible companies access to a personalized accompaniment service by qualified suppliers. These specialists provide support throughout the development of an action plan aimed at strengthening the company’s productivity and competitiveness on the international scene. These business advisory services have been available since March 2008.
Emploi-Québec offers its five-point Diagnostic d’entreprise (business diagnostic) service, carried out by external specialists and geared toward improving the company’s performance; it also offers ongoing training workshops to enhance workers’ professional skills.
The National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) offers the Value Stream Mapping service in collaboration with the University du Québec à Trois-Rivières’ industrial engineering department. Value Stream Mapping is a powerful analytical tool that makes it possible to map every step of the manufacturing process while integrating measurement indicators. This service is offered free of charge for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Finally, the Société de Formation Industrielle de l’Estrie offers tailor-made programs to support companies in their production management processes, both in terms of constant improvement (Kaizen, 5 S, 3M, Shikawa, etc.) and in terms of conflict resolution, productivity, labour organization, and performance evaluation techniques. SOFIE also offers supervision workshops.
